Donation guidelines
My site or team want to hold a fundraising event or donate as a team. What should I do?
-
Nominate a co-ordinator to collect and deposit all the money, and be the point of reference for all questions and ideas
-
Decide on an event date, or final cut-off date for the collection of money so that you have a target to aim for
- Donations can then be paid from a nominated bank account using a debit card here, or by following the below instructions for cheque and cash donations.
What if I want to send a cheque?
Please download this form and send it with your cheque attached to the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), whose address is at the top of the form. Make sure you also include a gift aid form
so that the Fund can claim back the tax paid on your donation.
This will enable an additional 28 pence to be added to every pound you donate.
What if I want to donate cash?
Please download this form, fill it in and take it with your cash to any branch of HSBC. For your money to reach the Fund, you will then need to send a copy of the form with a receipt to the address on the form. Please note that you will not be able to claim gift aid on cash donations.
My colleague cannot access the internet. How can they donate?
They can follow the cheque or cash instructions as above, if you are able to download and print the forms for them. Otherwise, they should contact us and we will send the forms to them by post so that they can donate.
Will I be entitled to matched funding when donating to the Fund?
Rather than offering matched fundraising for monies raised by employees, Centrica has opened the Memorial Fund with an initial donation of £25,000. Individual matched funding is therefore not available.
