Thank you for visiting the Centrica Morecambe Bay Helicopter Accident Memorial Fund site
The Memorial Fund has been set up in memory of Les Ahmed, Alf Neasham, Jakie Shaw, Bob Warburton, Keith Smith, Steve Potton and Simon Foddering; our colleagues who died or are missing, presumed dead, in the helicopter crash of 27 December 2006 in Morecambe Bay.
We were all deeply shocked and saddened by this event, and I know many of you were directly affected. Like you, I wanted very much to do something to show our enormous respect for the bereaved, and our deepest sympathy for their families, friends and colleagues. This is why we have established the Memorial Fund as the focal point for charitable donations. We have opened the Fund with an initial £25,000 from Centrica.
All money raised will be donated to charities and initiatives specifically chosen by the bereaved families, and used to support the emergency and rescue services involved in the accident.
Making donations
You can donate directly through this site, using a credit or debit card, by clicking here -
100% of your donation will go directly to the Memorial Fund. Please follow the instructions on screen and select the ‘gift aid' option. This will enable the Fund to maximise your contribution by recovering the tax you have paid on your donation; an additional 28p, for every pound that you donate.
For further guidance on how to donate off-line, please click here.
The teams who work offshore have been extremely touched by the kind messages received from employees, our suppliers and many others over the past few weeks. Your compassion and determination to help has been hugely uplifting and very much appreciated.
Thank you for your support
